I have been traveling the Philippines for 6 weeks, and I thought I would be writing day and night about this solo traveling experience, the places I’ve been and the people I met. But every time I wanted to start, my fingers refused to do the typing, or the writing.

And it scared me, that I would lose the feeling without being able to write about it. All the mix of the intense, unexplainable thoughts that I have embraced, endured and accepted. So, here’s an attempt to write anything, and see what comes out of it-

Traveling solo is not for everyone, it’s not even for me, but I do it wholeheartedly because it’s just about the only adventurous thing I do in life.

I am a self-proclaimed Lazy Solo traveler. I love the thrills of flying and checking in somewhere. I love walking and discovering the area around me. I even go on expeditions and guided tours and I always make sure that I try at least one new thing during my travels. But I also miss out on a lot of things. My travel budget is higher because to date I have not learned how to drive a scooter. I don’t know how to backpack, because I can never fit in 45 underwear, 10 swimsuits, 4 leggings, 4 pairs of shoes, and 9 dresses I never end up wearing in a backpack.

I also have super unmanageable hair, it is neither curly or straight, and sheds all the time. It only looks ok when it’s blow-dried and styled. For all the bad hair days, I have 4 different hats and 6 bandanas. I wear contact lenses- the daily ones- and my weight fluctuates on a daily basis so I need outfits for ok days and not-so-ok days.

Other things about me: I am a morning person and not a fan of the night scene in general. I am a huge “snacker” and I can go for days without meals, just living off crackers and nuts and desserts. Oh, the desserts! I have a major sweet tooth and I cannot walk past a bakery without stopping and trying their best sellers.

I do not like to drink water, not sure how’s that possible but I just don’t. I do, however, love fruit shakes, mostly pineapple and Buko (coconut).

I enjoy my own company. My favorite time of the day starts one hour before the sunset. I have a ritual: I go out walking toward a sunset view with a random playlist on to discover new songs that I can add to my playlist.

I am a terrible swimmer and suck in all kinds of sports. No one needs to know this but I often get constipated, and it gets worse when traveling. I used to get really scared of insects, spiders, snakes, and roaches but less so now after I tried eating some of them J

I have a garlic allergy, but I take allergy pills and lately, I have been re-introducing it to my system, in milder forms. It’s working.

I love airports. I am always excited to board a plane and land somewhere. I always choose a window seat to the right so I can sleep nicely if I wanted to.

Here- I finished a post. It was relatively easy to write this one. I didn’t talk about the reasons why I am traveling a lot lately, what I am running from, or running towards.

I’ll get there, but for now, I am just happy I was able to type something J

Beautiful writing… as usual… Storytelling is just one of your marvels, but I am quite fond of it.
Luckily you didn’t stop sharing them with everyone.
    Stories to love they are…
