I am not living in a bubble, though I encountered a couple of those in the form of trash on the run, however I have my mind set on completing my first 42.195KM in 2 weeks, and no trash has the power to keep me away from completing my goal!

So…For the coming 14 days, You have your Lebanon and I have mine.

I am not blinded from seeing what is happening in this country, but I am choosing to put it on hold for my own selfish reasons.

Completing my first marathon is not about the medal or having some extra content to write about on my blog, it’s much, much more than that!

It’s about committing to something and sticking through the good and bad times to secure results. If you think that’s easy, good for you!

It’s by far one of the most difficult things I had to do. For someone whose idea of commitment is leaving the front door open, locking that door was seriously hard, and what was harder was knowing that the keys are there but you just can’t use them whenever you feel like it, or whenever things got rough and training got more demanding.

If you ask me what was I thinking, committing myself to such a journey, such a distance and such a sport, I would tell you I wasn’t thinking. That’s very true, see if I really gave it all the thought it deserved, I would have probably laughed at the thought of it and instead encouraged myself to attend a Zumba class ( knowing I would stop going after 2 or 3 sessions).

So today, living in a country with no president, no rules, no order, no hygiene.. is not alright but it is ok, because today, right now, I am living as one person with one goal..Complete a Marathon,

Lebanon, we meet again in 2 weeks, then we can catch up. You can tell me all about your recent dilemmas and relationship issues with your sadistic rulers, submissive citizens and we can contemplate our failed relationships and compare the beautiful qualities of our nonexistent ideal partners..
