Rushing to my car
On a gloomy afternoon
I saw one single flower
On the front window
It was delicately placed
All its petals intact
I took it and went in
Admired its flawless red
One solid color
One silky touch
Shaped to perfection.. Was this flower
It did not carry a single thorn
It was made to love
To be admired As a whole
I was taken by its scent
So distinct So strong
Even its leafs were symmetrically shaped
So naturally placed
On a tall skinny pedicel
I gently opened the door
Looked around Looked no more
I smoothly placed the flower
The most beautiful flower I ever saw
Right by the entrance door
Oh pretty one I said
I hope he finds you here Before it turns 12
On this valentine’s day
I hope he places you where You so rightfully stay
See you don’t belong with me
You must belong elsewhere
As I turned, the red rose whispered
I do belong,
He picked me out of a 1000 rose
He said this looks like her
Perfectly shaped Amazing scent
Classy color Refined leafs
Standing tall Always ahead
This isn’t me, I said
He doesn’t know me well
Out of a thousand flower
I am the one with a hundred shades of red
My leafs are either too big Or way too stumpy
Oh, and I even keep some of my often useful thorns
My spine is always flowing to a rythm unheard by most
I flirt with the sun
I am a mistress to the moon
A sucker for the stars’ glitter and glow
My petals don’t put on a show
They’re a million story waiting to be told
Oh pretty one I said
I am fed up with perfection
It weighs heavy on my soul
It comes with an image
Very much like yours
One I have no time for
But darling rose,
Should you ever come across
One who sees beauty in chaos
One who flows to sounds None has heard of
One who isn’t scared by one or two thorns
Well, lets just say I have one petal left
With one more story Waiting to unfold
